World Record Shallow Dive into Paddling Pool (Event held by IAESTE)
A US shallow diver has broken his own world record by swan-diving 36ft (11m) into a paddling pool containing just 12in (30.5cm) of water. Darren Taylor, also known as Professor Splash, dived into a pool of near-freezing water in Trondheim, Norway, making the jump his 13th Guinness certified record. When i was on vacation in Maui I went scuba diving with my dad, my brother, and myself for about an hour, only like 15 feet or less under the water.
The day after both my dad and I got sick.
He has a really bad runny nose, and I got that and a cough.
Could this be a result from the dive?

I'm going to Maui soon and I am completely afraid of sharks. I've never seen one and I certainly don't want to. Looking up recent shark attacks isn't helping my fear.
I love to scuba dive, but the shark infested waters of Maui are freaking me out and I don't want to scuba dive on my trip anymore!

I smoked for the last 5 years (approx 15 a day), starting when i was 18 and giving up two months ago when I was 23. Since then I've decided to start scuba diving, i have to sit a medical in a couple of days and wondered if i am likely to have any trouble? Also, smoking for only 5 years is this likely to effect my diving at all? Is it still just as safe?
I don't have asthma, or any breathing problems
